On Saturday, 27th September 2025, Wanyange Girls Secondary School proudly participated in a 15km walk organized by the Old Boys of Busoga College Mwiri. The event brought together schools, alumni, and community members in a show of solidarity, health consciousness, and environmental stewardship.
The walk started at Amber Court in Jinja and stretched all the way to the historic grounds of Busoga College Mwiri. Along the journey, participants shared in the spirit of fitness, teamwork, and unity while celebrating the legacy of Mwiri and its strong ties with the wider community.
Beyond the physical challenge, the day also carried an environmental message. Upon arrival, participants took part in tree planting activities at Mwiri Primary School and Busoga College Mwiri. This initiative underscored the importance of environmental conservation, while also serving as a symbolic gesture of nurturing future generations.
Wanyange Girls SS, through its students and representatives, demonstrated its commitment not only to academic excellence but also to community service and sustainable development.
