STUDENTS AND STEM AT WANYANGE GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL

From the introduced mosquito module in 2019, the students developed the aspect of identity map and team building, so they formulated teams which included the survey, sensitization, data collection and analysis. These worked within school and reached out to different categories of people.

The STEM projects have helped to promote Project Based Learning where we students have engaged in researching about different projects making new discoveries and this the reason why the mosquito larvae project became a success.

Students have engaged in community outreach programs where they have installed may mosquito larvae traps in areas such as musima primary school, Musima health center III among others. They have also sensitized community members of Igenge village, Wanyange Village, Musima village about mosquitos

Students have been encouraged from different class that is from S.1 to S.6. and with the new lower secondary school curriculum that is project based learning students have found it easy since this program was earlier introduced in school in 2019 when prof. Usha visited our school.
